Jude was a Principal in the Bardstown City Schools for 19 years and like his older brother a very fine athlete and respected gentleman. Graduated from St. Joe. Prep in 1955 Played basketball, football and baseball Averaged 29 points per game in basketball in his senior year. Holds Prep single game scoring record; having scored 47 points against Lebanon in 1954. Received a basketball scholarship to Western Kentucky and played under the legendary Coach Ed Diddle, advancing to the final 16 in the 1960 NCAA tournament. Teacher for nine years before becoming Assistant Principal at Bardstown High School. Served as Principal of Bardstown High School for 19 years. President of the Kentucky Association of Secondary Principals--1978-79. President of the Kentucky Association of School Administrators--1962-83. Was elected by his fellow Kentucky High School Principals to a four year appointment to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Secondary School Principals- 1964-88. Received the in :Honor of Excellence" award as the Outstanding Secondary School Principal in Kentucky--1986 |
